Adaptive cruise control ACC retrofit coding

Adding adaptive cruise control to a vehicle that lacks it is one of the most requested retrofits in the group. After fitting the radar, the stalk and the wiring, the whole configuration remains: that is what we do remotely.

What the software part covers

Registering the radar in the gateway, coding the radar, the engine and gearbox control units to accept distance requests, the cluster for the displays, and the stalk or multifunction steering wheel. The configuration is then validated by SVM with the manufacturer servers, otherwise the faults come back.

What remote work does not replace

The radar must be physically calibrated, on a rig with a target, in an equipped workshop. We can drive the calibration procedure in ODIS while the workshop positions the target, but this step cannot be done alone at home. Plan it before the session, or ask us for a partner garage.

What you need

  • The radar, stalk and harness fitted
  • The part references, with invoice for used parts
  • Access to a workshop for radar calibration
  • A Windows laptop with TeamViewer or AnyDesk and a VNCI or VAS 6154A interface

On recent models protected by SFD (Golf 8, Octavia 4, Leon 4, A3 8Y, Formentor…), the activation goes through an authenticated unlock with the manufacturer. Our technicians perform it during the session; the quote reflects it.

Is a used radar suitable?
Often, provided the reference matches your platform and component protection is removed, which we do on the purchase invoice. We check compatibility before quoting.
Does the bumper need changing too?
On most models yes, or at least its grille: the radar needs a clear window. That is a fitting matter, independent of our work.
