Dynamic (sweeping) indicator activation by coding

Sweeping indicators are not a part, they are an operating mode of LED lights. On vehicles whose rear or front clusters are built for it, coding is enough to enable it. On the others, no coding will make it appear.

Which vehicles can have it

The condition is hardware: the lights must contain individually driven LED segments. That is the case of the facelifted Golf 7 LED rear lights, the Passat B8, many Audis from 2016 and recent Leon, Octavia and Formentor. A read-out of your configuration confirms it before any quote.

The activation is done in the lighting control unit or the central electronics module, by coding. It changes no component and remains reversible.

Points to watch

On some models the sweep can only be enabled on the rear lights, or only on the mirrors. We state it in the quote. If your original lights do not allow it, the only route is replacing them with compatible clusters, followed by the same coding.

What you need

  • Genuine or compatible LED lights supporting the sweep
  • A Windows laptop with TeamViewer or AnyDesk
  • A VNCI 6154A or VAS 6154A interface

On recent models protected by SFD (Golf 8, Octavia 4, Leon 4, A3 8Y, Formentor…), the activation goes through an authenticated unlock with the manufacturer. Our technicians perform it during the session; the quote reflects it.

Understanding SFD

Frequently asked questions

Is it road legal?
Yes when the lights are genuine or approved for this mode: the sweeping indicator is standard equipment on many group versions. The coding only enables a mode designed by the light manufacturer.
Can it be reverted?
Yes, by the same coding. The original value is saved before any change.
