Virtual Cockpit and Digital Cockpit layout activation

Audi's Virtual Cockpit and the Digital Cockpit of the other group brands carry display layouts that only some trims enable: the Sport view with central rev counter, reduced dials, full-screen navigation views. They can be unlocked by software.

Depending on the system

On Audi, the Sport view is a licensed function: it is enabled by a feature code or by coding depending on the cluster generation. On VW, SEAT, Škoda and CUPRA Digital Cockpits, additional layouts are most often enabled by coding the cluster.

As with any option, feasibility is checked on your VIN before a quote: an analogue cluster with a centre screen does not become a Virtual Cockpit by coding, the hardware is required.

What you need

  • A genuine Virtual Cockpit, Digital Cockpit or Active Info Display cluster
  • A Windows laptop with TeamViewer or AnyDesk
  • A VNCI 6154A or VAS 6154A interface

On recent models protected by SFD (Golf 8, Octavia 4, Leon 4, A3 8Y, Formentor…), the activation goes through an authenticated unlock with the manufacturer. Our technicians perform it during the session; the quote reflects it.

Can a Virtual Cockpit replace a conventional cluster?
Yes, that is a retrofit: used or new cluster, component protection removal, coding and SVM validation. It is no longer a simple activation; ask for a quote describing your project.
