Features

Lane Assist, Light Assist and Sign Assist activation

The front camera housed behind the mirror serves several assistants: lane keeping, automatic high beam management and traffic sign recognition. On many vehicles the camera is present but some of these functions were never enabled. They can be unlocked by coding.

What we enable

Lane Assist and Light Assist are enabled by coding the camera, the gateway, the cluster and the power steering for lane keeping. Sign recognition depends on the infotainment unit: on some Audi it is a feature code, on recent MIB units a coding. The quote states what applies to your VIN.

All of these functions remain switchable from the vehicle menus, as on versions that have them as standard.

Hardware condition

The front camera must be present and working. A vehicle without one is a retrofit with camera fitting and workshop calibration: a different job, which we quote on request.

What you need

  • A genuine front camera behind the windscreen
  • A Windows laptop with TeamViewer or AnyDesk
  • A VNCI 6154A or VAS 6154A interface

On recent models protected by SFD (Golf 8, Octavia 4, Leon 4, A3 8Y, Formentor…), the activation goes through an authenticated unlock with the manufacturer. Our technicians perform it during the session; the quote reflects it.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know whether my car has the camera?
A black housing behind the interior mirror, on the windscreen side, with a small lens. If you already have Front Assist or automatic high beam, it is there. If in doubt, send your VIN: the auto-scan settles it.

Check feasibility on your vehicle

Enter your VIN: we read the exact version of your control units, and your request arrives pre-filled with this feature.

A VIN never contains the letters I, O or Q.
