Ambient lighting and colour selection coding

On vehicles fitted with ambient LEDs, colour and intensity selection is often limited to a single shade depending on the trim. Coding opens the full menu in the infotainment unit, with the palette the hardware provides.

What is possible

Enabling the settings menu, choosing among the available colours, separate zone settings on vehicles that allow it, and linking to the drive mode on some Audi and CUPRA. The number of colours depends on the LEDs fitted: ten, thirty or a single one on base versions; we read it in the configuration before quoting.

What you need

  • Genuine ambient LEDs, multicolour for a colour choice
  • A Windows laptop with TeamViewer or AnyDesk
  • A VNCI 6154A or VAS 6154A interface

On recent models protected by SFD (Golf 8, Octavia 4, Leon 4, A3 8Y, Formentor…), the activation goes through an authenticated unlock with the manufacturer. Our technicians perform it during the session; the quote reflects it.
