Coming home and Leaving home activation by coding

Coming home keeps the lights on for a few seconds after switching off the ignition to light your way to the door; Leaving home does the opposite on unlocking. The function exists in the central electronics of almost every group vehicle, but is often disabled or limited from the factory.

What we adjust

The activation itself, the lighting duration, the lights involved (dipped beam, daytime running lights, fog lights depending on the vehicle) and, on models that allow it, automatic triggering by the light sensor or manual triggering by a headlight flash.

Good to know

On vehicles with LED or matrix headlights, Coming home may come with a welcome animation; it belongs to the same coding. On vehicles with a manual light switch without an AUTO position, the function is triggered by a headlight flash with the ignition off.

What you need

  • A Windows laptop with TeamViewer or AnyDesk
  • A VNCI 6154A or VAS 6154A interface

On recent models protected by SFD (Golf 8, Octavia 4, Leon 4, A3 8Y, Formentor…), the activation goes through an authenticated unlock with the manufacturer. Our technicians perform it during the session; the quote reflects it.

Understanding SFD

Frequently asked questions

Does it drain the battery?
No. The function is timed to a few tens of seconds and switches itself off. It is standard on higher trims of the same vehicle.
Can it be done together with another option?
Yes, and it is advisable: several codings in one session cost less than separate sessions. List everything you want in the request.
